The Central Bank of the Russian Federation proposes to limit the amount of digital assets for purchase by unqualified investors to 600 thousand rubles per year.

At the end of July, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the law "On digital financial assets (DFA) and digital currency", which is to come into force on January 1, 2021. The Central Bank of the Russian Federation has prepared an instruction, within the framework of which it determines the characteristics of digital assets that will be available exclusively to qualified investors, and assets available for purchase by any citizens of the Russian Federation. “A limit is being set on the acquisition of digital financial assets by an individual who is an unqualified investor for a total of 600 thousand rubles within one year. The limit for the acquisition of digital rights by individuals who are unqualified investors, which simultaneously include digital financial assets and other digital rights, is set at 600 thousand rubles for digital financial assets and 600 thousand rubles for other digital rights, ”the document says.

Recently, the Bank of Russia published an advisory report on the possibilities and prospects of issuing the digital ruble for wide public discussion.
